If you've been around Collingwood in the last few years, chances are you may have seen the Mobile Soup Kitchen van parked all over town, we've certainly seen it at the Library. Maybe you've wondered what they're all about? Well wonder no more. The Mobile Soup Kitchen is a grass roots, volunteer powered initiative founded by Rhonda Day to help fill the gaps for the food insecure people in our area. As the demand for this type of service has unfortunately grown since its founding, so too has Rhonda and her team's resolve to help. With a growing contingent of volunteers eager to make a difference, the Mobile Soup Kitchen continues to help people every day, from keeping them fed, to connecting them with laundry services and more.
Tune in to learn more about Rhonda the person, as well as her journey to starting a community service so impactful it's earned her accolades, awards and even a guest spot on CBC.
